Vigil In Novato To Mark 5th Anniversary Of Sandy Hook Shooting

Organizations nationwide are holding vigils and other events in remembrance of the children and adults who died on Dec. 14, 2012.

NOVATO, CA – The activist group Peace Novato is holding a candlelight vigil at Novato City Hall Thursday evening to mark the fifth anniversary of the mass fatal shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

The vigil between 5:30-7 p.m. to end gun violence also will call attention to the 500,000 American victims and survivors of gun violence since December 2012, Peace Novato officials said.

Organizations nationwide are holding vigils and other events in remembrance of the 20 children and six adults who died on Dec. 14, 2012, when they were shot by 20-year-old Adam Lanza, who also killed his mother before the school shootings.

The vigil includes luminaries and welcomes families and pets. It is in front of Novato City Hall at 901 Sherman Ave.
