Wash Wildfire Ash Off Cars, AAA Advises

The American Automobile Association says vehicle owners should also consider changing out air filters and windshield wiper blades.

BAY AREA, CA – The American Automobile Association is advising vehicle owners to wash the ash from local wildfires remain off of their cars before it sits there too long.

Because ash is grittier and more abrasive than regular dirt, vehicle owners should wipe it away with a soft cloth or a duster.

When cleaning extremely ashy vehicles, try rinsing it with water and then washing it with soap - starting at the roof and working your way down.
