Woman, 28, Killed in Bay Area Encampment Stabbing

The stabbing occurred at a homeless encampment in the area, which is separate from the city's sanctioned camping area.

SAN RAFAEL, CA — A 28-year-old woman was stabbed and killed in San Rafael on Saturday evening.

San Rafael police officers responded to a call of an unresponsive woman on Anderson Drive at about 6:15 p.m.
The victim was found between Lindaro and Irwin streets suffering from stab wounds, according to a statement from the San Rafael Police Department.

The stabbing occurred at a homeless encampment in the area, which is separate from the city's sanctioned camping area on Mohon Creek Path several blocks away, according to the police department.

San Rafael firefighters also responded and provided first aid, but the victim died at the scene.
