Woman Pushing Baby in Stroller Hit By Car in Novato

Police say both the woman and baby were taken to the hospital.

NOVATO, CA- A woman and her one-year-old child have been hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, after they were hit by a vehicle while crossing a Novato street, police say.

The incident happened at around 3:40 p.m., when the unidentified woman was pushing her stroller— baby in tow— across Reichert Avenue at Grant, according to Novato Police Officer Alan Bates. She was in a marked crosswalk.

Bates says while the woman was still in the crosswalk, another woman driving a 2013 Honda Fit was turning onto Reichert Avenue, from Grant Avenue.

Police say the driver is cooperating with authorities and that neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the collision.
