• Oakley police holding DUI/driver's license checkpoint on Friday (thepress.net) — Oakley police will run a DUI and driver's license checkpoint this Friday, Sept. 18, from 6 p.m. to midnight at an undisclosed location in town, aiming to catch impaired drivers and boost road safety. Residents are reminded that impairment can come from alcohol, drugs, or certain medications, and that a first DUI can cost about $13,500 plus a license suspension.
