2 Arrested In Fatal Shooting Near Oceanside's Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre

Bianca Madrigal, 21, and Jose Rodriguez, 18, both of Oceanside, face charges of first-degree murder in the shooting death of Ines Villa, 21.

OCEANSIDE, CA – Police have arrested two people in connection with the gang-related shooting death of a man near the beachfront Junior Seau Pier Amphitheatre in Oceanside.

According to police, officers responded to calls of gunshots around 7:20 p.m. June 1 in the 200 block of North Strand. They found Ines Villa, 21, mortally wounded in the bleachers at the outdoor venue, adjacent to the Oceanside Pier. The Oceanside resident died around 7:45 p.m. en route to a hospital.

Over the next few days, detectives found information that led them to suspect 21-year-old Bianca Madrigal of Oceanside, who was arrested June 2, and 18-year-old Jose Rodriguez of Oceanside, who was taken into custody the following day. Both face charges of first-degree murder and an allegation of participating in a gang felony, according to police and jail records.

Madrigal is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Rodriguez's court date is pending.
