Beach Burnt? Surf Bowl Provides Fun Alternative

Fun in the sun is great, until the sun beats down a little too strong and the fun is marred by sunburn or dehydration. Which is why is the perfect alternative to the day at the beach.

"We do bowling, games, pizza, and we even have laser tag," said Brittany Tosello, 19, and an employee at Surf Bowl. "It's a great family-friendly environment. We even do birthdays."

Since the military bowling alley has been closed down for renovations, Surf Bowl has seen many more military families filling its lanes. And with a military discount, it's easy to bring the whole family down for a couple of games. Military receive a discount at $3 per game and a $4 shoe rental.

The bowling alley has some good deals for the general public as well, boasting three evening specials. After 10 p.m, you pay $20 and bowl all you want until 1 a.m. On Tuesday, Surf Bowl offers a $6 cover charge with 25 cents games and a "Thursday Thursday" special featuring a $5 cover charge with $1 games.

Games regularly cost $5.25 and shoe rental is $5.25. Bar food, including pizza and burgers, are available at affordable prices.

"Our kids really like to come here," said Kate Battenfeld. "It's convenient and family-friendly."

"Plus the games are really fun," said Gemma Willetts, 10.
