Brush Fire Burns 42 Acres On Camp Pendleton
The blaze broke out east of Vandegrift Boulevard, base officials said.

CAMP PENDLETON, CA – A brush fire burned 42 acres in a training area on Camp Pendleton Monday, authorities said.
The blaze broke out in the Mike training area, east of Vandegrift Boulevard and a more than a mile south of Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton, according to military officials. By 2:10 p.m., crews had fully contained the fire, officials said.
Fire officials in nearby Riverside County warned residents that they may spot smoke from the blaze.

"Drift smoke may be visible throughout the southwest portion of Riverside County," the Riverside County Fire Department said.
The fire posed no structural threats, and there were no injuries.

Firefighters were expected to mop up the scene for the next several hours.
