Join The Smokin’ Ocotillos for a Saturday night of live music, ocean breezes and rooftop fun at The Surf Club Oceanside — with a little September birthday celebrating mixed in!
The Smokin’ Ocotillos are an Oceanside-based six-piece band playing a dance-friendly mix of rock, country rock, Southern rock and more. With multiple lead vocalists, great harmonies, guitars, keys and plenty of variety, the band brings together familiar favorites, newer songs and a few unexpected choices that make every show a little different.
The Surf Club is one of Oceanside’s best spots for a night out, with a laid-back coastal atmosphere, great food and drinks, ocean views and a rooftop made for live music.
We’ll also be celebrating a few September birthdays, so if you have a September birthday too, come celebrate with us! Grab some friends, come early for dinner and drinks, and stick around to Rock the Rooftop and hit the dance floor.

Held at the Oceanside Elks Lodge, this vibrant community event welcomes all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorbikes. Come out to browse an incredible lineup of unique vehicles, check out local vendors, and participate in a raffle. Admission is entirely free for spectators. The California Surf Museum will host a Big Wednesday screening of The Rising Dawn, a documentary exploring the emerging surf culture of Côte d’Ivoire and the story of pioneering surfer Souleymane Sidibé, at the historic Sunshine Brooks Theater in Oceanside. The evening will include a film screening, Q&amp;A panel, and audience gathering centered on surf history, culture, and international storytelling.

Celebrate one of the last Friday nights of summer at The Hangar 76 with live music from The Smokin’ Ocotillos!
The Hangar 76 is one of Oceanside’s hidden gems — a unique local hangout where an urban winery, craft brewery and pizzeria all come together under one roof. Enjoy award-winning wines from Carruth Cellars, locally brewed beer from Tipping Pint Brewing, wood-fired pizza, and plenty of indoor and outdoor space to settle in for the evening.

Goat Hill Park Golf Course

Surf’s up, and so are the fairway flags as The Brother Benno Foundation presents their eighth annual charity golf tournament fundraiser
The event will feature 11-time World Surf League champion Kelly Slater and a day of ocean views, premium swag, famous sponsors and memorable giveaways. And, oh yes, plenty of golf for a good cause.

Sustainable clothing brand Outerknown and local favorite C3 Bank will return as event title sponsors.
Auctions, live and silent, will feature luxury items and exclusive golf and surfing experiences. 

The top live auction prize will be a surfing experience at the Kelly Slater Wave Company’s Surf Ranch, a destination resort in Lemoore, CA. The Surf Ranch is an immersive surf lifestyle experience offering epic waves, farm-to-table cuisine and lifelong memories. Other top auction prizes include surfboards by Slater Design and Firewire, and a custom designed board by Gerry Lopez.

Silent auction items will include golf excursions, sports gear, clothing, gift baskets and restaurant gift cards.
Golf tournament participants will receive a premium swag bag with apparel and golf items from sponsors. Registration begins at 9 a.m., which is also when silent auction bids open. The tournament starts with an 11 a.m. tournament photo and a shotgun start; lunch, snacks and dinner will be provided. A 50-50 raffle will offer a chance to win cash.

Top finishing teams will win special golf outings for foursomes. First place, Aviara Golf Club; second place, El Camino Country Club; third place, Goat Hill Park.

Entry fees are $250 for individual golfers and $1,000 for foursomes. People may sponsor active duty military golfers for $250. (Brother Benno’s will continue its tradition of sponsoring local active-duty military golfers on tournament day.)



Sponsorship opportunities are available at several price levels.
Proceeds will support Brother Benno’s mission of serving homeless neighbors and working poor in North San Diego County by offering essential meals, addressing basic needs, fostering community outreach and supporting addiction recovery.
Since its inception in 2019, the tournament has raised more than $2.1 million for critical need programs in San Diego County.
