OCEANSIDE, CA — Patch reader Rainer Mueller captured this photo of Charlie The Pelican at the Oceanside Pier.
Photographer Rainer Mueller is celebrating his 50th year of capturing the North County scene.
And it’s been a very rewarding time. His photographs and videos have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, CNN, and a host of other outlets.

His latest project has been documenting Oceanside’s famous Top Gun house. As the project’s official photographer he has been given the unique all-access pass to this local treasure.
