By Bonnie Bright-Assistant Volleyball Coach at Mission Vista High School-8-29-17: The Lady Timberwolves of Mission Vista opened up the 2017 Volleyball season as they improve their record to 1-0 on the season as they defeated the Lady Warriors of Fallbrook High School at 1-2 in four sets by scores of 25-21, 20-25, 25-16 and 26-25 tonight after senior setter, Maile Counts (#9/Captain), served an ace for match point. We have worked hard on our passing this past month and it showed tonight. Middle Blocker, Callah Glauch (#14), connected well with Setter, Maile Counts in the middle and was a force at the net with her blocking. Kiersten Belotti (#11) showed her flexibility by playing well both on the right side and the middle with her steady blocking and passing. Anna Davis (#8) is doing a good job transitioning to the outside, as well as playing middle. Seniors, Sydney Stevens (#6) and Maile Counts (#9) both had several ace serves. Morgan Foster (#5) and Maya Pokletar (#2) played some aggressive defense in the back row and provided steady passing. As a whole, I think we are off to a good, steady start. This supportive team showed they can work together and come back for the win. I’m a proud assistant coach
