Crews Halt Spread, Evacuation Warnings Lifted For Wildfire In North County
The blaze, called the Sandia Fire, sparked off Sandia Creek Road in De Luz, north of Fallbrook, according to Cal Fire.

FALLBROOK, CA — Crews worked overnight Tuesday to contain a brush fire that prompted evacuation warnings in northern San Diego County.
As of Wednesday morning, the Sandia Fire had scorched 24 acres and was 35% contained, according to Cal Fire.
"Thanks to improved overnight humidity, firefighters worked through the night to strengthen control lines and mitigate hazards within the burn area," Cal Fire San Diego said on social media.

The blaze sparked at 3:20 p.m. Tuesday off Sandia Creek Road in De Luz, north of Fallbrook and just south of the Riverside County line, according to Cal Fire. The forward rate of spread was stopped by 6:30 p.m.
All evacuation warnings were lifted Tuesday evening in the area, according to the California Highway Patrol.

There were 72 personnel assigned to the fire Wednesday, including 10 engines, four hand crews and four other resources.
The fire caused no reported structural damage or injuries.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
