Detectives Seek Leads in Oceanside Homicide

OCEANSIDE, CNS: Authorities on Friday urged anyone with information about a three-week-old unsolved slaying in a coastal North County neighborhood to come forward.
Homicide detectives have scant leads about the death of 35-year-old Brandon Keiser, who was gunned down in the 400 block of South Freeman Street in Oceanside on March 22.
Shortly after 10 that night, patrol officers responding to reports of a disturbance followed by gunfire found the victim mortally wounded near a sidewalk in front of a home. He died before medics could take him to a hospital.

Investigators do not believe the shooting was a random act.
"Detectives are investigating the possibility that Keiser and the (killer) knew each other," police spokesman Ryan Keim said.

Anyone who might be able to help identify the shooter was asked to call at 760-435-4730. Tipsters may remain anonymous.
