Dine & Make a Difference with the John Corcoran Foundation

Dine & Make a Difference with the John Corcoran Foundation and Boudin SF Encinitas on November 13th!

Join the John Corcoran Foundation on Thursday, November 13th from 3pm-8pm at Boudin SF at Encinitas for a meet-and-greet with John Corcoran, author of “The Teacher Who Couldn’t Read” and founder of the John Corcoran Foundation.

The John Corcoran Foundation’s mission is to end illiteracy and they are doing so by providing one-on-one literacy instruction at their Second Nature Learning Center in Oceanside and through online programs for at-risk and low-income children and adults. The foundation’s approach has proven to be effective in producing an average of a three-year grade equivalent improvement in students. Over the past five years, more than 3,000 students have learned to read and comprehend English through the foundation’s programs.

The foundation also offers scholarships to families facing financial hardship. The JCF team wants everyone, both children and adults alike, to have an equal opportunity to learn to read.
