Pursuit Ends In Fiery Crash On SR-76 In Pala
State Route 76 is closed west of Pala Casino due to the collision.

PALA, CA – A vehicle fleeing from San Diego County Sheriff's deputies crashed into a bus and caught fire near Pala Casino Wednesday.
Deputies began pursuing the driver, who was believed to be the subject of an arrest warrant, about 4:15 p.m. on State Route 76 near Pala Mission Road in the Pala area, according to sheriff's officials. Minutes later, the white SUV the suspect was driving crashed into an oncoming North County Transit District bus.
Authorities reported that at least one person suffered serious injuries in the crash.

SR-76 was closed in both directions in the area. It is not known when the highway will reopen.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert for the area at 4:41 p.m. Drivers should expect delays.

Hwy 76 west of the Pala Casino is closed in both directions after a suspected felony subject fled from deputies in a white SUV and collided with a North County Transit bus. Fire personnel are still working on extracting the driver who fled.
