SAN DIEGO NOTES

  • Dinelson Lamet tossed a career-high 104 pitches in the game, earning his fifth win of the season...the rookie had not allowed a single hit to the Pirates until RF Adam Frazier ended Lamet’s no-hit bid with his single to right field in the fifth.
  • Jose Pirela hit two triples in tonight’s game for the first time in his career…it was the 16th time a Padre hit two triples in a game since Nick Hundley did so on August 16, 2011…he became the 15th Padre to accomplish the feat (Dave Roberts recorded a pair of triples in two games in his Padres’ career)…he is the seventh player in the Majors this season to hit two triples in a game…no Padre has ever hit three triples in a game.

· Cory Spangenberg has hit safely in 12 of his last 14 games, batting .373 (19-for-51) with one double, two triples, one home run, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored…is hitting .305 (43-for-141) at home this season…his 20 multi-hit games are third-most on the team behind Wil Myers (21) and Manuel Margot (25).

· Manuel Margot belted his eighth homer of the season… this homestand, he is hitting 12-for-24 (.500) with a double, a triple, three homers and six RBI.

o Has five multi-hit games in his past six games, and he leads the team with 25 multi-hit games.

· RHP Kirby Yates earned his first save in a Padres uniform…it was his second career save (his first coming on July 20, 2014 at MIN, while pitching for Tampa Bay in his rookie season).
