Here are the top five stories in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton today:

  1. The plans for the Ocean Kamp 92-acre project at the old drive-in site on Highway 76 and Foussat include a 300-key resort hotel, hotel conference buildings, surf lagoon and beach club. 2. Carlsbad's City Council voted unanimously last week to oppose Oceanside's sand retention project, saying Oceanside was "amateurish" to approve it without consulting the county's other coastal cities. "We want to open the line of communication with Oceanside and solve these problems together."(The San Diego Union-Tribune)
  3. The eruption of the underwater Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai volcano near the island nation of Tonga Saturday, triggered tsunami activity across the entire Pacific Ocean. 4. Naegi, the Japanese-style karaage fried chicken sandwich business run by Matsu restaurateur William Eick, has relaunched in a food truck. The truck is now serving from 3 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Fridays at South O Brewing. (pacificsandiego.com)
