Oceanside Begins City Redistricting With 1st Community Meeting On January 12

The City of Oceanside to begin process of adjusting City Council District lines to reflect local population changes from the 2020 Census.

OCEANSIDE, CA — The City of Oceanside is starting the process of redistricting the City Council’s four districts with a series of Public Hearings and Community Outreach Meetings from January through March.

The first meeting is this coming Wednesday at 6pm in the Oceanside City Council Chambers. The city is encouraging residents to participate and provide feedback. Redistricting is the process of adjusting district lines to reflect local populations changes, so that each district continues to contain nearly the same number of people as the other districts. The four Oceanside district lines will be redrawn to reflect local population changes shown in the 2020 Census.
