Oceanside Celebrates National Night Out Tuesday
A variety of community-building events take place tonight around Oceanside.

OCEANSIDE, CA – Community members and law enforcement officers across the country, county and city of Oceanside, will celebrate National Night Out Tuesday night. The annual event promotes community-police partnerships, crime prevention and neighborhood camaraderie.
In Oceanside, community members will have a chance to meet local police officers and participate in family-friendly activities at four different events throughout the city:
- Crown Heights Resource Center: 5-8 p.m., 1210 Division St.
- Resources, movie screening, snacks
- John Landes Park: 5-8 p.m., 2855 Cedar Road
- Basketball tournament, activities, snacks
- Joe Balderrama Park: 5-9 p.m., 709 San Diego St.
- Car show, movie screening, activities, snacks
- Libby Lake Park: 7-9 p.m., 504 Calle Montecito
- Movie screening, snacks
The events are hosted by the city of Oceanside and Oceanside Police Department, in partnership with Save Our Streets, North County Lifeline, Eastside Neighborhood Association and Vista Community Clinic.

Created in 1984, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Last year, more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities across the United States, Canada, U.S. territories and military bases participated in the event.
