Here are the top five stories in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton today:

1. Did you feel it? A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Monday morning in Mexico and rattled residents across San Diego County. The quake was reported at 4:21 a.m. about five miles west-northwest of El Sauzal, Baja California, Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake had a depth of nearly nine miles. The quake was centered about nine miles from Ensenada, 52 miles from Chula Vista and 64 miles from San Diego. (San Diego Patch)
2. CocoCabana atop the Brick Hotel, is scheduled to have its official opening Wednesday, July 27. The open-air 2,100-square-foot cocktail bar boasts expansive views of the ocean and downtown Oceanside from atop the fourth floor of the recently opened hotel. CocoCabana's kitchen offers a distinct menu geared towards bar bites and shareable dishes ranging from jerk duck confit to grilled sardines, curry clams, and lime-marinated wagyu skewers. Brunch plates like plantain hash and eggs, a breakfast sandwich, and an egg-stuffed baked potato will be available on weekends. (San Diego Eater)
3. Oceanside is the home port for cruise ship journalist, Peter Knego, "I take a cruise and then I'll write about it," said Peter. The cruises are free for Peter who averages about ten voyages a year. How many cruises has he taken? "Oh, about 300, a little more, I lost count a long time ago," said Peter. Peter's home is filled with ship parts, furniture and artwork. "Everything except the drywall and I think one or two shower doors is from a ship," said Peter. (CBS News 8)
4. The number of people hospitalized with a coronavirus infection in San Diego County increased by two to 465 — the most since late February — according to the latest state data out Saturday. ICU patients with COVID increased by five to 54. There were six more hospital beds available Saturday, totaling 226. Amid a rise in COVID-19 infections in San Diego County, health officials are reminding the public to seek treatment to help prevent severe symptoms from the virus. (Times of San Diego)
5. The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Saturday for the 38th consecutive day, decreasing 3.8 cents to $5.725, its lowest amount since March 10. The average price has decreased 64.8 cents during the streak, including 2.4 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. The average price is 17.5 cents less than one week ago and 58 cents lower than one month ago, but $1.411 more than one year ago. (San Diego Patch)
