Oceanside Neighborhood Evacuated For Natural Gas Leak
Construction crews working in the 1500 block of Kelly Street might have nicked a pipe, police said.

OCEANSIDE, CA -- A gas leak prompted authorities to evacuate an Oceanside neighborhood Saturday morning, police said. The leak, in a community northeast of the Interstate 5 and state Route 78 interchange, was first reported at 9:48 a.m., Oceanside Police Lt. Kedrick Sadler said.
Construction crews working in the 1500 block of Kelly Street might have nicked a pipe, causing natural gas to spew into the air, Sadler said.
Multiple nearby homes were being evacuated as of 10 a.m., though Sadler couldn't say precisely how many.
