Oceanside Police Arrest Transit Center Attempted Murder Suspect
Oceanside Police Detectives made an arrest Thursday morning with help from public tips of the suspect in the Sep 30 Transit Center shooting.

OCEANSIDE, CA — On Thursday at approximately 8:45 AM detectives from the Oceanside Police department arrested the suspect of the September 30 shooting at the Oceanside Transit Center, according to police reports.
The arrest was made exactly one week after the shooting occurred when detectives working from public information were able to locate and arrest the suspect. The victim of the shooting was a 31-year-old man who had sustained gunshot wounds to his abdomen and left hand. He was life flighted to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla in stable condition.
The suspect is identified as 38 year old Brett Burgess. Burgess was arrested on a Felony Warrant for Attempted Murder. The weapon, a handgun, used in this case was also recovered.
