Oceanside Police Go Pink With Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

OCEANSIDE, CA — During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which runs through October, the Oceanside Police Department is "going pink" with unique shoulder patches — which also are part of a community-wide, fundraising campaign for a North County nonprofit.

The $10 patches can be purchased by the public at the Oceanside Police Officers Association business office Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The office is at 4141 Avenida De La Plata in Oceanside.

All sales proceeds will be donated by the Oceanside Police Officers Association to Shades of Pink Foundation California, an Encinitas-based organization that supports breast cancer victims. The group provides temporary financial aid to women experiencing financial distress due to a breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
