OCEANSIDE, CA — The FACE Foundation, a nonprofit that provides financial aid for emergency and critical pet care, has appointed Oceanside resident Kerstin Lynam as its new executive director. She began her role Jan. 19.

Lynam brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in mission-driven organizations, including serving as CEO of the Pablove Foundation, which supports pediatric cancer research, and the Veterans Medical Research Foundation in San Diego. She holds an MBA from the University of Colorado, Denver.

"I am honored to join the Foundation for Animal Care and Education at such a pivotal moment," said Lynam, who lives in Oceanside with her husband and two rescue cats. "No family should ever lose a beloved pet simply because lifesaving veterinary care is financially out of reach."

The FACE Foundation works to prevent "economic euthanasia," providing financial assistance and resources to low-income families, seniors, veterans, students and others who cannot afford emergency veterinary care.

The organization marks three milestones this year: celebrating its 20th anniversary, recognizing the fifth anniversary of its Wag N' Purr Resale Boutique, and saving 5,000 animal lives.

"These milestones reflect the compassion and dedication of an incredible community of veterinary partners, donors, volunteers and supporters," Lynam said. "Together, we will build on this momentum so that many more pets can receive the care they need and continue the lives they share with the families who love them."
