Pacific Marine Credit Union O'side Turkey Trot Seeks Volunteers

Adult and high school-aged volunteers are needed to fill a variety of roles at the 2014 Pacific Marine Credit Union O'side Turkey Trot.

Adult and high school-aged volunteers are needed to fill a variety of roles at the 2014 Pacific Marine Credit Union O’side Turkey Trot, announced Kinane Events, the event organizer.

Volunteer positions are available on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 25 and 26, as well as on race morning, Thursday, Nov. 27. Assistance is needed with event set-up, packet pick-up, participant registration, refreshments, timing at the finish line and more.

All volunteers will receive community service hours, refreshments, an O’side Turkey Trot volunteer T-shirt as well as the appreciation of thousands of participants who benefit from their support.

The O’side Turkey Trot 5-mile and 5K runs will kick off on Thanksgiving morning at 7 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. respectively, starting on historic Highway 101 at the Civic Center (located at 330 N. Coast Highway) and finishing on The Strand just south of the iconic Oceanside Pier. A 5K walk begins at 8:45 a.m. The family-oriented event also includes one- to ¼-mile kids runs starting at 10:30 a.m., an expo and a costume contest.

The O’side Turkey Trot raises funds for Oceanside schools, the Move Your Feet Before You Eat Foundation and numerous local charities and organizations.
