Oceanside Chamber of Commerce Honors Heroes of Oceanside and Camp Pendelton – North County Daily Star (northcountydailystar.com) — Oceanside residents and Camp Pendleton service members were recently celebrated at the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce's annual Heroes luncheon, recognizing local firefighters, police, lifeguards, healthcare workers, educators, businesses and nonprofits. Held at the Seabird Resort, the event highlighted lifesaving responses to a serious backyard fire, honored standout teachers and medical staff, and spotlighted community-minded businesses improving daily life in Oceanside.
   

2. N. Oregon Coast's Downtown Astoria a Semifinalist in National Award (beachconnection.net) — Mainstreet Oceanside in Oceanside has been named a semifinalist for Main Street America's prestigious 2027 Great American Main Street Award, recognizing standout downtown revitalization efforts. The program joins just seven other communities nationwide in the running, underscoring years of local work to preserve and energize Oceanside's historic core ahead of the final decision in May 2027.
   

3. Where did San Diego County's roadside motor lodges go? (timesofsandiego.com) — Oceanside's early motels and auto courts once lined the beach and old Highway 101, from Tent City's humble cottages on North Strand to Travelers Auto Court, now the Coast Inn. This history-rich look at vanished and surviving properties shows how changing roads, land values, and tourism reshaped Oceanside's coastline and travel culture over the last century.
   

4. Tropical Storm Watch Issued for Part of California as Conditions Intensify (travelinglifestyle.net) — Oceanside is under a Tropical Storm Watch as Rachel brings heavy rain, possible flooding, and coastal hazards to San Diego County tonight into Sunday. Local winds along the coast, including Oceanside, could gust to 30 mph, with dangerous surf, rip currents, and potential power outages. Residents are urged to secure outdoor items, avoid flood-prone roads and beaches, and follow county emergency updates.
