'Patches' Our Local Celebrity Dolphin Seen Off Oceanside Coast
A recent Oceanside Adventures cruise captured drone footage of Patches, the famous black and white leucistic dolphin.

OCEANSIDE, CA — 'Patches' the black and white leucistic bottlenose dolphin is known to frequent the waters along Southern California's coast. Sightings of the rare dolphin are documented and even celebrated.
Oceanside Adventures has been recording sightings and sharing photos and videos of Patches for over 10 years. Patches even has his own webpage where people can submit their own sightings of the rare dolphin.
"It's always exciting to have Patches, the well-documented leucistic offshore bottlenose dolphin come for a visit like he did Saturday, March 26, 2022." said Carla Mitroff, Manager of Oceanside Adventures.

Oceanside Adventures offers year-round whale and dolphin tours. Currently, the gray whales are migrating from December through April. We also see Fin whales and minke whales year-round. In summertime, we see the humpbacks and blue whales and we have 4 species of dolphins, so there is always something to see no matter what time of the year you go.
