Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train In Oceanside
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

OCEANSIDE, CA – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon in Oceanside. The deadly collision happened shortly after 1 p.m. on the railroad tracks near the intersection of North Cleveland Street and Surfrider Way, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
The northbound Amtrak train was traveling about 35 miles per hour when a man walked toward the tracks and stood in front of the train, sheriff's officials said. The train was unable to stop and struck the man.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity wasn't immediately available.

The tracks were closed between Oceanside and San Clemente, according to Metrolink. Pacific Surfliner officials warned that lengthy delays were expected.
