- Without an extra-base hit in tonight’s game, the Padres snapped a 51-game streak of having at least one extra-base hit in a game (since June 19)…the streak tied for third-longest in club history, matching the 51-game streak in 2006 (from May 30-July 27)...the longest single-season streak by the Padres is 103 games, set from May 9-August 31, 2000.
· Luis Perdomo was saddled with his eighth loss despite tossing his 12th quality start on the season…he has worked 5.0 innings-or-more in 19 of his 22 starts and at least 6.0 innings in 15 of those outings…Perdomo is now 1-2 with a 3.79 ERA (8 ER, 19.0 IP) in three career starts against the Nationals.
- Dusty Coleman logged his fourth homer of the season and his first since August 5th at Pittsburgh.
- Carlos Asuaje recorded his 13th multi-hit game of the season and extended his hitting streak to five consecutive games, batting .389 (7-for-18) in that time.

- Matt Grace made his first career start as well as his first career appearance against the Padres, tossing 4.1 innings, allowing two hits while striking out one…his 52 pitches thrown tonight were one shy of his career high 53 set on August 1, 2017 at MIA.
- Grace did not allow a single extra-base hit in tonight’s outing, and his seven extra-base hits allowed this season are the fewest among active Nationals’ relievers (with at least seven appearances).
- Howie Kendrick belted his second career leadoff home run (last: June 19, 2010 at CHC, while with LAA) in tonight’s game and the sixth leadoff homer for the Nationals this season (last: Brian Goodwin on July 23 at ARI)…Kendrick is hitting .357 (20-for-56) with four doubles, five home runs, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored since joining the Nationals on July 28.
- Anthony Rendon is batting .323 (40-for-124) in 38 games since July 1 with 11 doubles, six homers and 27 RBI.
