Students from Discovery Isle Preschool in Oceanside Place in San Diego County Fair’s STEAM Challenges

Kindergarten students won in robot coding and clock making at the county fair's Summer STEAM Maker Festival

Students from Discovery Isle Preschool in Oceanside recently placed second in two challenges at the San Diego County Fair’s Summer Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Maker Festival, which was attended by 4,000 local students. Kindergarten students won in the Coji challenge, in which students competed in coding a robot, and the clock designing challenge. The special one-day event included a variety of hands-on activities, demonstrations, presentations and additional challenges, including recycled engineering, skateboard designing and backyard safari entomology. Discovery Isle also hosted a booth with hands-on magnet and structure building activities.
