I Have Been Asking People If They Ever Heard of Tejano Music and The Majority Would Say, No.

And By the Way, "Tejano" Meaning Texan. American Music or Texan Music From the State of Texas.

In My Opinion and What I Have Read on Tejano Music History and Beyond, Here is Some Explanation:

In June 6, 1960 My Wife and I Came From Texas, Bringing Along with Us Our Tejano Music and Our Tejano Style Dancing and Our Tejano Culture. But of Course, There Were Other Tejanos That Were Already Here Promoting Tejano and Conjunto Music.

Since Then, We and Other Tejanos Who Came Here To California Have Established But Not Limited To Three (3) Tejano Music Club Organizations. These Three are Tejano Music Club of California Based in Lodi, Ca. Tejanos Bay Area Based in San Jose, Ca, and Tejano Music Association Based in Highland, Ca. Besides These, There Are Other Private Music Promoters In Northern, Central and Southern California. In Other Words, Tejano and Conjunto Music is Very Alive Here in The State of California.

What is Tejano Music? Our Tejano Music is Unique, There is No Comparision. Tejano Music Was Born in Texas. Tejano Music Goes Back into the 1800's and Beyond. But, Tejano/Conjunto Music didn't get to take-off until The Father of Tejano/Conjunto, Narciso Martinez Introduced it with an Accordion, Bajo Sexto, Bass Guitar and Drums Conjunto Band in the 1920's thru 1940's.

Tejano Music is a Music Genre, Not a Category. In Tejano Music We Have Categories as Conjunto, Tex-Mex, Progresive Conjunto, Tejano/Country, Tejano/Orchestra, Classic Tejano Music. In Tejano & Country Music the Songs are Sang some in English words and Some in Spanish. These are Called "Spanglish" Songs. Most of Us, Tejanos Speak Spanglish. And Some Mexicans People has a Problem with How We Speak. We Are not Mexicans, We Are American Spanish Speaking People. We Are a Tejano Culture, not a Mexican Culture.

Like I said before, Tejano Music is Unique. Tejano Music was Born inTexas. On the other hand, Our Tejano/Conjunto Music is some what like Norteno Music but with a different Style of Beat. Nortno Music was developed in the Northern States of Mexico Bordering the Rio Grande River Valley, while Our Conjunto Music was developed in Texas, Spreading into the Northern and Western States of the United States of America. Most of Our Music are Love Songs or Concerning Nature Life Relationship. But never the less, we do have Texas Born Tejanos (Texans) that play Norteno Music Like for example, Michael Salgado Group from Texas. Another One is "Intocable" Group From Zapata, Texas. There are Others Few more to mention too. Ramon Ayala y Los Bravos Del Norte plays Norteno Music.

Why Am I Writing This Article? My Intentions are to Make Known, Educate the General Public, and Expose Tejano Culture and Tejano Music Exposure Wide World Networks. Anyways, If You Would Like To Know About Tejano Music and Culture, Just Let Know. Keep in Mind that I am not an Expert in these Subjects, For The More I Search, The More I Learn in My Journey in Life.
