OCEANSIDE, CA — August is stacking up to be an event-filled month in Oceanside. Here are some of the favorite happenings coming up this month.
Friday, August 6 - First Friday Art Walk, Artist Alley Oceanside
Celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene in the heart of Downtown Oceanside next Friday. From 5-9 p.m. enjoy arts, jewelry, pottery, crafts, live music and more from local artists. This free, family-friendly event is produced by the Oceanside Friends of the Arts in support of arts-related activities in Oceanside.

Friday, August 6 - Music at the Museum with Whitney Shay, Oceanside Museum of Art
Explore the exhibitions for free starting at 5 p.m. and stay for the free concert with the electric energy and soulful style of four-time San Diego Music Award winner Whitney Shay. The music starts and cash bar opens at 6:30 p.m. VIP tables of four are also available for $50.

Saturday and Sunday, August 7-8 - Longboard Surfing Club Contest & Beach Festival, Oceanside Pier
This two-day annual surfing competition is back in Downtown Oceanside! Held just south of the Pier, this free and family-friendly event welcomes surfers and non-surfers of all ages to enjoy world-class surfing as well as a variety of fun activities and entertainment.
Wednesday, August 11 - Early Learning and Community Information Hub Opening Celebration, Oceanside Public Library
Oceanside Public Library invites you to celebrate the new Early Learning and Community Information Hub on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 11:00 - 11:30 AM, located within the Civic Center Library, 330 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA.
Celebrate the grand opening of the Hub, learn about its offerings, see the space, meet the Hub mural artist, view a storytime, receive free children’s book and craft giveaways, and enjoy refreshments!
Thursday, August 12 - North County Health & Wellness Fair, Oceanside Chamber
The Oceanside Chamber will hold its 14th Annual North County Health & Wellness Fair on August 12, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The North County Health Fair is FREE to the public and a great way to receive information, meet a new health specialist, or learn more about healthy living. Located at the beautiful Oceanside Civic Center Plaza, the North County Health Fair will run concurrently with the popular Downtown Farmer's Market.
Saturday, August 21 - El Corazon Aquatics Center Grand Opening Ceremony, City of Oceanside
A grand opening ceremony for the City of Oceanside’s El Corazon Aquatics and Events Center will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at 3306 Senior Center Drive in Oceanside.
Saturday, August 21 - Operation Appreciation, Oceanside Chamber
On Saturday, August 21, 2021, the Oceanside Chamber will bring the business community and area residents together to provide a day of recognition to all active-duty military stationed on Marine Corps Base Camp Joseph H. Pendleton and nearby military bases.
Thousands of active duty military, their family and dependents are treated to a day of free food, entertainment and a fun zone for kids. This event will span over 3 blocks in downtown Oceanside and will begin near the corner of Pier View Way and Coast Highway. Free parking is available in the Civic Center Parking Structure as well as the Transit Center parking structure. The fun begins at 11 AM and lasts until 4 PM.
Saturday and Sunday, August 21-22 - 44th annual Oceanside World Bodysurfing Championships
The annual Oceanside World Bodysurfing contest is considered the premier Bodysurfing contest in the US. Approximately 350-400 bodysurfers from around the world compete in their respective age divisions for trophies and prizes.
Saturday, August 28 - Write On, Oceanside! Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation and the Oceanside Public Library
Write On, Oceanside! is an annual literary festival to celebrate and inspire local authors. This year’s 11th celebration will take place on August 28, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM in and around the Oceanside Civic Center.
