OCEANSIDE, CA — November is stacking up to be an event-filled month in Oceanside. Here are some of the favorite happenings coming up this month.
Friday, November 5 - Music At The Museum With The Sea Monks
5:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Oceanside Museum of Art, 704 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054
Explore the exhibitions for free starting at 5:00pm and stay for the free concert with the rockabilly and blues music of The Sea Monks. The music starts and cash bar opens at 6:30pm. Friday, November 5 - 7, 12-14 - Shrek the Musical
At the Historic Brooks Theater, 217 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054
Oceanside Theatre Company, Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside to Present Shrek, The Musical, with a cast of local youth as the Theatre Arts Program for Local Youth Resumes. The annual OTC Youth Outreach program introduces participants ages, 8 to 18, to the wonders and benefits of theater arts during a 9-week after-school program, underwritten by OTC and BGCO. On November 5th -7th and 12th -14th, the program culminates in six performances for family, friends and the general public, where the beloved Shrek characters will come to life onstage at the historic Brooks Theater in the heart of the Oceanside Cultural District. Saturday, November 6 - Bike the Coast
All Day Event at the Oceanside Pier Plaza/Strand/Pacific St.
Join riders of all levels and ages while experiencing the best of Southern California beaches and surf towns as you ride routes of 100, 50, 25 on historic Highway 101, or enjoy our family ride on the San Luis River Trail (15 or 7 miles).
Everything starts and finishes on the beach at the spectacular venue of the Oceanside Pier with food, craft beer, live music, expo shopping and fun.
Saturday, November 6 - Valley Arts Festival at Heritage Park
12:00-3:00 PM at Heritage Park in Oceanside
Valley Arts Festival (VAF) is pleased to present a celebration of Oceanside and its first peoples: the Payómkawichum (People of the West). Today the seven tribes are known as the Luiseño nation. The festival aims to help support and celebrate the indigenous population that lived on the land, now known as Oceanside. VAF will help educate the community on the beauty and strength of this amazing culture. A portion of proceeds from the festival will be donated to the San Luis Rey Mission Indian Foundation for enrichment programs.
This free family-friendly festival will feature Native American flute music with Spiritual Storm, Native American blues music with Tracy Lee Nelson, Indian Fry Bread for purchase, educational tables filled with historic cultural items, and a variety of participatory family-friendly activities.
Saturday, November 6 - 13th Annual Gala Fundraiser for California Surf Museum
4pm-10 pm at the oceanfront Cape Rey Hilton, 1 Ponto Road, Carlsbad, CA
The California Surf Museum invites you to attend the 13th Annual Gala Fundraiser as it celebrates its 35th anniversary. Since 1986, CSM has been collecting and preserving the surfing history and artifacts of this popular lifestyle sport and culture as well as producing fascinating exhibits and dynamic educational programs. The funds generated from the Gala help the museum continue these efforts.
The 13th Annual Gala will be held on 4-10 pm at the oceanfront Cape Rey Hilton, 1 Ponto Road, Carlsbad, Calif. Just a stone’s throw from the beach, with a spectacular sunset view overlooking the Ponto surf break and the Pacific Ocean.
Saturday Nov 20 - Sunday Nov 21 - Scholastic Surf Series
The Scholastic Surf Series is a division of the Western Surfing Association dedicated to bringing team Surf Competitions for High Schools & Middle Schools. Oceanside Harbor, So Jetty
Thanksgiving Day, November 25 - 16th Annual O’side Turkey Trot
Oceanside Civic Center - 330 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054
North County's Favorite Thanksgiving Day Tradition. Recognized as one of the Top Trots in the country by Runner’s World Magazine and the Los Angeles Times, the trot attracts visitors from 46 States and 460 cities.
Come “move your feet before you eat” this Thanksgiving at Oceanside’s 16th Annual Turkey Trot 5-mile or 5K run/walk. Register & join one of the fastest-growing holiday traditions. Be sure to bring the entire family, as there will be races for everyone. The event offers a costume contest, the largest teams competition, fabulous live entertainment on the course, and finisher medals for all participants. Free digital photos, medals, shirts, and timing to all registered participants. The event has raised over $380,000 for non-profits that serve O’side residents.
