OCEANSIDE, CA — October is stacking up to be an event-filled month in Oceanside. Here are some of the favorite happenings coming up this month.

Friday, October 1: First Friday Oceanside Art Walk

Celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The First Friday Oceanside Art Walk showcases live performances, jewelry, pottery, crafts and pop-up art galleries on display in local businesses and public spaces. Friday, October 1: Music at the Museum with Chloe Lou and The Liddells

Explore the Museum exhibitions for free starting at 5:00pm and stay for the free concert as Oceanside’s First Friday Art Walk extends into the night with the edgy indie rock soul of San Diego Music Award winning group Chloe Lou and the Liddells. The music starts and cash bar opens at 6:30pm. Capacity may be limited. Saturday, October 2: Taste Of Oceanside

Downtown Oceanside's premier culinary experience. Taste your way through Oceanside's exciting food and brew scene one bite and sip at a time. Tickets for the Saturday only Taste have SOLD OUT. The Friday night VIP Party on Oct. 1 features a special guest chef, light fare with refreshments and live entertainment. Limited VIP tickets are available for $125 and include a combo ticket for the Saturday event.

Saturday, October 2: St. Francis Day Blessing of the Animals
10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Mission San Luis Rey
The Franciscan friars and staff of Mission San Luis Rey will be celebrating the feast of St. Francis with the annual Blessing of the Animals. A day of fun, food and fabulous furry friends including Pet Costume Contest, OPD Canine Demonstration and pumpkin painting booth. Help our community by bringing non-perishble food items or toiletries to be donated to the parish Social Concerns Ministry and pet food to be donated to the Humane Society. Free Event. Friday, October 8: 40 Years of KOCT Celebration Fundraiser

KOCT Television is celebrating a 40 Year Legacy at the KOCT Television Soundstage in Oceanside, CA. Saturday, October 9: Filipino Cultural Festival

The Annual Filipino Cultural Celebration is back! The celebration will offer attendees a day filled with Philippine dancing and music, colorful costumes, special performances, and delicious Filipino and international cuisine. In addition, there will be crafts and activities for children in the courtyard of the Civic Center Library Community Rooms. Event admission is FREE and open to the public. The Filipino-American Cultural Organization (FACO) and the Oceanside Public Library will be hosting the 20th Annual Filipino Cultural Celebration. The 20th Annual Dia de los Muertos Festival is returning to its origin in Downtown Oceanside at the corner of Pier View Way and South Tremont Streets.

Saturday, October 30: IRONMAN 70.3

Athletes from around the world travel to Oceanside for the IRONMAN 70.3. The course consists of the following: 1.2 mile swim in the Pacific Ocean, 56 mile bike loop through Camp Pendleton, and 13.1 mile run along the coastal community in Oceanside. Everyone is welcome to cheer on the athletes as they complete this intense course. Cost: Free
