Top Oceanside Things To Do In June

Mark Your Calendars for Oceanside Independence Parade, Pride by the Beach, Juneteenth Celebration and much more happening in June.

OCEANSIDE, CA — June is stacking up to be an event-filled month in Oceanside. Here are some of our favorite happenings coming up this month.

'Songs for A New World' Preview Weekend At The Historic Brooks Theatre - June 3-26
Adapted from Teatro San Diego’s successful production streamed during the Covid-19 pandemic, SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD is a gorgeous song cycle by Jason Robert Brown, composer of Parade, Bridges of Madison County, and The Last Five Years. Having the common theme of making a difficult and important decision, each song and performer represents a form of social injustice in America such as Feminism, White Privilege, Gender Equality, and Racial Justice.

Beach Soccer Championships - June 3-5, at the Harbor Beach in Oceanside. The very popular sand soccer festival will again feature youth, adult amateur and adult pro women's and men's beach soccer as well as vendors, the BeSoCha Cantina and lots more!

First Friday Art Walk - June 3 from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk showcases live performances, jewelry, pottery, crafts and pop-up art galleries showcased in local businesses and public spaces. Presented by Oceanside Friends of the Arts.

21st Annual Filipino Cultural Celebration - June 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m
The Filipino-American Cultural Organization (FACO) and the Oceanside Public Library will be hosting the 21st Annual Filipino Cultural Celebration on Saturday, June 4, 2022. The event will take place in the Oceanside Civic Center Plaza. Event admission is free and open to the public.

Free Community Art Day at OMA - June 5 from Noon to 5:00 pm.
Be inspired by the exhibition James E. Watts: Storyteller during a fun, free afternoon of creativity for the whole family in partnership with Studio ACE! All materials will be supplied and no experience is necessary. Admission to the museum is free as well as all projects. Just bring your imagination!

Pride by the Beach - June 11 at Noon
Pride by the Beach, which celebrates 15 years in 2022, takes the lead in continuing to bring awareness of our community through the Youth Leadership program, community leadership opportunities and a world-class, free family-friendly Pride festival held on the second Saturday in June in the heart of downtown Oceanside. Let Pride by the Beach be your rainbow after the storm.

Juneteenth Celebration - June 18
The NAACP has hosted the North San Diego County Juneteenth for over 55 years. This year is particularly notable with it designated as a federal holiday. Highlights of this year's event promote the importance of education, contributions, and achievement. Highlights of the all-day event are performances, Kidz Zone, Educational - Community Info Outreach, Free Health Screenings, Vaccine Station, Local Artists / Musicians, and Food & Beverage Vendors. Please join us in celebrating the 157th year of liberation and emancipation.

OIFF Presents TNT’s Animal Kingdom Exclusive Premiere & Send-Off Event - June 22 from 5:30 pm to 10 pm. The Oceanside International Film Festival is proud to present an exclusive premiere of Animal Kingdom’s Episode #3 from the series sixth and final season Five Days before it debuts on television. With the series coming to an epic close, OIFF is providing this celebratory send-off event for fans and the local community. Attendees of this event will be treated to an early screening of a special episode directed by series star, Shawn Hatosy. Supported by Visit Oceanside, the event will take place at the historic Star Theatre.

Oceanside Independence Parade - June 25 at 10:00 am
Join us for the Mainstreet Oceanside Independence Parade as it makes its way north on Coast Highway from Wisconsin Avenue to Civic Center Drive. Come celebrate the floats, bands, walking groups, cool cars and much more. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. and runs about two hours. Spectators are encouraged to bring folding chairs. The highest concentration of viewers will be on the north end of the route past Seagaze Avenue.

Concert In The Park
Join us for a free and lively Celtic concert on Friday, June 17 at 5:00 p.m. at Jim Wood Park (4701 Mesa Drive, formerly known as Rancho Del Oro Park). The Friends of Oceanside Parks are hosting the stellar Highland Way band!

Movie In The Park
John Landes Park at 2855 Cedar will set the scene for a free family Movie in the Park on Saturday, June 25 at dusk (around 7:45 p.m.). Join us to view the movie Space Jam: A New Legacy! Bring a blanket or a low chair and snacks.

Every Thursday in Oceanside: Farmer's Market in the morning + Sunset Market in the evening. Discover eclectic items from 200 artisans and merchants at San Diego County's top weekly food and music street market. Enjoy one-stop shopping and dining with hot food from around the world, plus live music, kids activities and more.
