Tri-City Medical Center Presents Oceanside Independence Parade On June 27th
With More than 120 Parade Entries, this year's event promises to bring you Legends worth marching to
The Oceanside Independence Parade, presented by Tri-City Medical Center, will occur on Saturday, June 27th. This annual downtown Oceanside parade will start at 10 a.m., as usual, on Coast Highway from Wisconsin Avenue and ending at Civic Center Drive with more than 120 parade entries expected to march, roll, walk and drive down the famous 101 Coast Highway.
“It will be a nostalgic and memorable parade experience especially since we declared this year’s parade theme, Legacy and Legends,” says Cathy Nykiel parade committee member. “Our theme was selected to honor those who contribute so much to our community. Come out in your best Patriotic duds, wave your American flags and see our parade entries represent this theme and honor our Nation, Oceanside, local business and individuals.”
Who better to represent an Oceanside Legend is this years’ Grand Marshal, Oceanside High School’s Football Coach, John Carroll. Because of his distinguished winning record, Carroll has been named 2014 Coach of the Year by numerous organizations. Over the course of his 26 years coaching Oceanside High School students, his teams have made the playoffs every year. Coach Carroll’s 26 year cumulative record at Oceanside is 248-75-6.

“Much thanks also goes to this year’s Title Sponsor, Tri-City Medical Center. The sweet down-home parade would have a very tough time without Tri-City Medical Center’s support to continue such a legacy this parade has become for our city residents.”
