Victim in Fatal Vista Crash Identified

The 35-year-old died on April 9 when his Honda sedan collided with a BMW at South Santa Fe Avenue and Civic Center Drive, authorities said.

VISTA, CA: A 35-year-old Vista man who died in a car crash in his hometown over the weekend was publicly identified Tuesday, April 12.

Richard One Lee was killed as his Honda sedan collided with a BMW at the intersection of South Santa Fe Avenue and Civic Center Drive shortly after midnight Saturday, April 9, then wrapped around a traffic signal pole, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department and the county medical examiner's office.

Lee died at the scene from multiple blunt force injuries, authorities said.

The BMW sedan rolled and landed in a nearby parking lot, sheriff's Deputy Kenneth Werner said. Its driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido to be treated.
