Woman Found Dead In Homeless Camp Off I-5

OCEANSIDE, CA – An unidentified woman was found dead from unknown causes Tuesday in a brushy open area used by transients as a makeshift camp just east of Interstate 5 in Oceanside.

A homeless person arrived at a nearby senior center shortly before 2 p.m. and reported the discovery off Country Club Lane, according to police.

There was nothing immediately suspicious about the fatality, Lt. Ignacio Lopez said.

The county Medical Examiner's Office was summoned to take custody of the body for identification and autopsy purposes.
