Xara is Your Rancho Coastal Humane Society Pet of The Week

Her mom went to college.

(RCHS - Mark Viguri)

Xara is pet of the week at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society. She’s a 5-year-old, 9-1/2-pound, female, Domestic Long Hair cat with a Black and White coat. Her name means “Princess.”

When Xara was transferred to Rancho Coastal Humane Society through the FOCAS (Friends of County Animal Shelters) program five years ago, she was adopted right away.

Now her adopter moved away to go to college, leaving Xara with her family. They said that Xara was too active for their lifestyle, so they brought her back and asked Rancho Coastal Humane Society to find her a new, more active home.

She was raised with children and has lived with three dogs. Xara had indoor/outdoor access and she slept in bed with her family.

They described her as having a middle-of-the-road energy level. She’s affectionate. but doesn’t care to be handled very much.

Special note. While hundreds of pets were adopted at your Rancho Coastal Humane Society during the COVID 19 pandemic, others were left behind in the COVID Loop. The “Fresh Start” program at RCHS includes gift packages and training classes to help match long-term animal guests with adopters.

Three dogs, one cat, and one rabbit will be highlighted each week. If this isn’t the right time to adopt a pet, you can Sponsor a Fresh Start. Your tax-deductible sponsorship donation will help an adoptable pet get started on the right paw. For more information visit Rancho Coastal Humane Society at 389 Requeza Street in Encinitas, log on to www.sdpets.org, or call 760-753-6413.
