• Citing safety concerns, officials say they'll let a still-smoldering fire in Ontario warehouse burn itself out (usa-today-news.com) — Ontario firefighters say the massive Kimberly-Clark warehouse fire, still smoldering since April 7, will be allowed to burn itself out because unstable walls and buried debris make interior attacks too dangerous. Officials stress there’s no threat of the blaze spreading, but warn it could flare with winds while they work toward turning the damaged site back over to the property owner.

• Operation Consequences Nets 76 Arrests, Focused Largely In High Desert Communities (vvng.com) — Ontario residents should know their police department joined a major weeklong crime‑suppression sweep that made 76 arrests, seized 76 firearms, and took nearly 12 pounds of suspected narcotics off the streets. The multi‑agency Operation Consequences focused on High Desert and nearby communities and will continue targeting gangs, illegal guns, and parole and probation violations in the coming months.
