1 Dead In Fiery 5 Freeway Crash: CHP
An SUV crashed into the center divider of the Interstate 5 Freeway in Tustin Monday morning before bursting into flames.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A dark-colored SUV crashed into the center divider of the Interstate 5 Freeway in Tustin Monday morning, bursting into flames and killing at least one person inside, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The crash was reported at 3:10 a.m. on the northbound side of the freeway, according to the CHP.
The collision sent debris flying across both sides of the freeway, just south of Tustin Ranch Road.

One witness told CHP that a red sedan was being driven recklessly before the crash.
A SigAlert was issued for all northbound lanes, with traffic diverted off at Jamboree Road with the far-right lane reopened at 3:53 a.m.

The Jamboree Road on-ramp was also shut down.
About 10 feet of concrete barrier was damaged, the CHP said.
