Orange County's Coronavirus Totals: 112 Die, 4,841 Positive
Four more men and ten women died overnight as a result of the disease.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — On Thursday, Orange County Health Care officials reported an additional 14 deaths, bringing the county's coronavirus death toll to 112 since the global pandemic began.
Overnight, four men and ten women of varying ages died as a result of the coronavirus. Ten of those who died were in area nursing facilities, according to Orange County Health Care reports. Of the total 112 people who have died in Orange County, 40 were nursing home residents, according to reports from Orange County Health Care.
Out of the county's just under 3.2 million residents, over 90,000 have been tested for coronavirus. Of those, 4,841 have tested positive since testing began.

Though other counties are sharing statistics related to coronavirus recovery, Orange County Public Health has not released figures on those who have recovered from the virus as of this report.
All 25 of Orange County's reporting hospitals shared data for Thursday's report. At any given day, a total of 25 hospitals are eligible to report data.

Thus far, Orange County nursing homes account for 532 of the total infected, and 364 more cases are inmates at Orange County jails.
As of Thursday, 247 Orange County residents hospitalized due to the virus, and 89 of those are in intensive care battling the disease.
While skilled nursing facilities have been hotbeds of coronavirus and accounted for 35 percent of those who have died in Orange County, no inmates have died as of this report.
More men than women have contracted the coronavirus in Orange County, and 64 men have died of the virus while only 48 women have died.
Of those who have died:
- 2 were between 25 and 34 years old
- 4 were between 35 and 44 years old
- 11 were between 45 and 54 years old
- 15 were between 55 and 64 years old
- 19 were between 65 and 74 years old
- 31 were between 75 and 84 years old
- 30 were over 85 years old.
Though the OC Health Care Agency reported an additional 1,311 tests completed on Thursday.
"The numbers fluctuate day-by-day due to changes in patient conditions," a spokesperson for Orange County Health Care wrote on their website.

Mission Viejo parents with student graduates surviving the coronavirus shutdown was startled when celebration posters were removed from their front lawns this week. One day later, the community responded with their thoughts, and some heartfelt messages for the graduates.
Funding for small businesses in Orange County was partially approved, Tuesday. OC Board of Supervisors approved a proposal for distributing aid to their towns & failed to agree on funding for nonprofits, small business.
More Orange County beaches were opened to active use this week in advance of Memorial Day, for active use only, along with county and national parks.
After being some of the first in the county to be infected with coronavirus, and since recovering, several Orange County Firefighters are now donating antibody-rich plasma. It will be used to help those suffering COVID-19.
On Monday, Gov. Gavin Newsom announced loosening restrictions to allow most of the counties in the state to reopen businesses in his phase 2 plan. Orange County's officials are optimistic that many businesses will be open by the weekend.
