6 OC Suspects At Large Following Smash-And-Grab Robbery, Series Of Pursuit Crashes: Police

Two of the eight suspects wanted for carrying out a smash-and-grab robbery at an Anaheim jewelry store were arrested, police say.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Police sought eight smash-and-grab robbery suspects who led police on two pursuits at one time, with both pursuits ending in crashes Friday afternoon.

The pursuit started at 2:38 p.m., when the Anaheim Police Department reported that officers were involved in a pursuit of two vehicles related to a robbery. According to police, both cars were involved in a smash-and-grab robbery targeting an Anaheim jewelry store earlier Friday.

The pursuit entered the City of Fullerton before coming to an abrupt halt, police said.

The initial crash happened around 2:40 p.m. at S. Lemon Street and E. Orangethorpe Avenue and involved multiple vehicles, police said, with minor to moderate injuries being reported.

According to police, four people in the suspect vehicle fled the area on foot.

At around 2:43 p.m., a second crash happened in the area of N. Euclid Street and W. Malvern Avenue, also involving multiple vehicles, police said.

The suspects involved in this crash also fled the scene on foot, police said.

As of 5:05 p.m., two of the eight robbery suspects had been apprehended by police officers, with authorities actively searching for the remaining six.

No information about the suspect's identities were released.

Residents were urged to avoid both areas while officers from Fullerton, Anaheim and Placentia actively search for their suspects.

Residents who observe suspicious activity were urged to call 911.
