NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Video recently posted to social media shows a large rattlesnake slithering through where you may least expect it: a sandy shoreline.

The video was posted by stand-up comedian and TV host Nicky Paris, who said he was visiting Crystal Cove this past week.

"I have always said I have wanted to find a private, tiny little beach in the middle of nowhere," Paris said in his video. "Yesterday, I finally did it. I was at this beautiful beach."

However, Paris's day took a turn for the unexpected when he was standing in the water and "felt something tickle his big toe."

"I'm not saying that it's this pervert. But one could assume. You know, it was huge," Paris said in the video. "It crawled right out of the water. Right all the way past the beach, in between my sandals, on the beach. I literally was watching it."

Paris said the rattler went back up the beach's cliffside, avoiding him and his items laid out on the shore.

If you see a snake in the wild, experts recommend that you give it distance, as snakes typically attack humans out of fear as opposed to aggression.
