These 6 Orange County Starbucks Stores To Permanently Close This Weekend

ORANGE COUNTY — Six Orange County Starbucks locations are scheduled to close this weekend, according to the company's store locator and several media reports. The sudden closures come as part of a wave of closures of 250 stores across North America the company announced Tuesday. In a letter to employees, Starbucks Chief Operating Officer Mike Grams said they are closing locations "where we do not believe we can consistently deliver the experience we want for customers and partners or where we don't see a path to acceptable financial performance."

The closures represent approximately 1% of Starbucks' more than 18,000 North America locations.

Starbucks did not release a full list, but many were able to determine which were closing based on the listing of hours on the company's store locator and reports from WTHR, ABC10, and several other outlets. In Orange County, the following locations do not list hours past Saturday evening:

Aliso Viejo — 27072 La Paz Road
Cypress — 10953 Meridian Drive
Laguna Woods — 24281 Moulton Pkwy.
Rancho Santa Margarita — 28562 Oso Pkwy.
Santa Ana — 2800 N. Main St.
Tustin — 3089 Edinger Ave.

Most stores are operating regular business hours Saturday, then permanently closing.

Employees at many of the closing branches face an uncertain future. An employee at one branch in the Bay Area confirmed to Patch that they will be transferred, but many others said they will find out Sunday whether or not they have jobs at other locations.

A total of 64 locations in California are expected to close this weekend based on location hours, which comes to roughly 2.1% of the state's 3,058 locations. Outside the Bay Area, the likely closures include:

13 in the Bay Area
20 in Los Angeles County
7 in San Diego County
4 in the Inland Empire
3 in the Central Coast
10 in Sacramento and Central Valley Area

In September 2025, Starbucks announced that it was closing 627 stores in North America and Europe. That wave included 43 locations all over the Bay Area, according to KTVU. In his letter, Grams said the company is aiming for faster service, and "warmer, more welcoming coffeehouses."

Despite the closures, Grams said that the company still plans to open more locations. "We are actively developing a strong pipeline of new coffeehouses and remain committed to growth in North America," he said.
