Anaheim Ducks, LA Kings To Host Beach Clean-Up In Long Beach

Both teams will join forces to support NHL Green at the Freeway Face-Off Beach Clean-Up to clean up the shores of Long Beach.

ANAHEIM, CA — Staff members and fans of the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Angeles Kingswill come together on the shores of Long Beach on Thursday for a special beach clean up event in support of National Hockey League Green.

The Freeway Face-Off Beach Clean-Up will see both organizations join forces with 13-year-old Ryan Hickman from Ryan's Recycling, who is a globally recognized environmentalist and recycling advocate.

“This is the second time the LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks organizations are coming together for a cause,” said Kings Senior Vice President of Community Relations Jennifer Pope. “We are excited to continue to build off the success of our efforts last year and channel our on-ice rivalry for the good of our planet, specifically our shared coastline.”

More than 150 staff volunteers are expected to participate in the afternoon event in support of Hickman's passion for keeping the coastline clean, officials said.

The event will take place at Granada Beach in Long Beach at 5100 E Ocean Blvd. from 1 p.m to 3 p.m.
