Orange County Press Club Announces New Board of Directors

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (October 5, 2026) — The Orange County Press Club has announced its 2027 Board of Directors, with six new members joining five returning members. The 11 total board members were selected through a voting process by the OC Press Club membership in September.

New board members

The following journalists are new to the OC Press Club board and will begin duties in October 2026.

Noah Biesiada. Biesiada is county reporter for Voice of OC, covering county government and public agencies. He also was named 2023 Online Journalist of the Year by the Los Angeles Press Club.

Ben Camacho. Camacho is an investigative journalist and documentary photographer; founder of Inadvertent and co-founder and managing editor of The Southlander, an investigative news cooperative.

Mona Darwish. Darwish is a bilingual Orange County Register reporter covering immigration and local government. She previously reported on crime and breaking news for Southern California News Group.

Michelle King. King is a Voice of OC reporting fellow covering local government, transportation, housing and health. She also is a Cal State Fullerton graduate and former Daily Titan editor.

Paul Roberts. Roberts is founder of OC Talk Radio, an online radio station and community podcast platform serving Orange County for 15 years.

Jenn Tanaka. Tanaka is a food and travel writer and editorial consultant whose work has appeared in Eater, the Orange County Register, COAST magazine and other publications.

Returning board members

Hosam Elattar. Elattar is a Voice of OC reporter who has covered education, local government, housing and community issues across Orange County. He has also taught journalism at Chapman University.

Carrie Freitas. The club’s 2026 vice president, Freitas is a former journalist and editor who owns Newport Beach-based KTM Agency and contributes occasional on-air segments for Fox 11 KTTV.

Breeana Greenberg. The club’s 2026 secretary, Greenberg is a freelance journalist for Times Media Group and a recent USC journalism master’s graduate with a focus on local news.

Victoria Le. Victoria is an Orange County Register reporter covering Anaheim, Irvine, Orange and the communities of Little Saigon. Her work has also appeared in The Nation and The Verge.

Destiny Torres. The club’s 2026 president, Torres is a multimedia journalist at LAist covering Southern California and digital equity. She previously reported for the Orange County Register.

Departing board members

The club thanks Patrice Marsters, Erika Taylor, Andrew Turner, John Underwood, Victoria Walker and David Young for their leadership and service to Orange County’s journalism community.

“We’re grateful to our departing board members for the time and energy they have devoted to the Press Club and to supporting local journalism,” said Destiny Torres, the club’s outgoing president. “We’re equally excited to welcome this new group of board members, who bring an impressive range of experience and a shared commitment to strengthening Orange County’s journalism community.”
