ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Authorities Thursday sought the public's help in tracking down a hit-and-run driver who killed a bicyclist in Fountain Valley.

The driver struck 52-year-old Antonio Huerta of Huntington Beach while he was riding his bike at Slater Avenue and Santa Maria Street just after 7 a.m. Sunday, police said.

When officers arrived to the crime scene, they found the victim on the sidewalk and had him rushed to a hospital, where he died Monday, according to the department. Police are looking for a vehicle that was eastbound on Slater from Newland when the driver veered into the bicycle lane and struck the victim. The driver fled east on Slater.
