Man Who Hit 2 People With Car After 'Exchanging Words' Sentenced In OC
The 30-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday and was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison.
ANAHEIM, CA — A 30-year-old man pleaded guilty Thursday and was immediately sentenced to 10 years in prison for intentionally running into two people, critically injuring one victim, while driving out of a convenience store parking lot in Orange County.
Alex Figueroachavez pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder with sentencing enhancements for inflicting great bodily injury on one victim and the personal use of a deadly weapon, according to court records.
Figueroachavez has 797 days credit behind bars since his arrest.

The defendant "exchanged words" with the two victims and then struck them with his vehicle while driving away from a parking lot about 1:30 a.m. Aug. 23, 2024, at 1001 N. Harbor Blvd., said Anaheim Police Department Sgt. Matt Sutter.
One victim was hospitalized at the time in critical condition.
