'Mother, Wife, Sister': Orange County Grieves For Woman After Sudden Death

ANAHEIM, CA — The Orange County community is rallying to support the family of an Anaheim woman who died when a tree fell on her parked car on Sunday, Feb. 19.

Maria Cruz was described by family members as a "loving mother, wife, sister and just an overall kind person."

"She especially loved being a mother and dedicated most of her free time to being the best mom and being part of her son's life," a family friend wrote on the Cruz family's GoFundMe page. "Her service as a volunteer at Anaheim Elementary School District further proves this."

Family friend and campaign manager Douglas Soto created a GoFundMe page in order to help support Cruz's husband and son through this difficult time.

Residents who would like to help offset the costs for a funeral service and burial can do so by visiting the family's GoFundMe page.
